Look Who's Two!

I can't believe my baby is TWO! This year we celebrated in Dayton because Dave had his interview there on Owen's birthday. Luckily, we were able to stay with family, which makes any celebration that much more fun! Owen got to wake up to a birthday morning (Dahl style) and opened a few presents. Then, while Dave was at his interview, we went to the Boonshoft Museum (which is fantastic and Owen LOVES it!) We saw lots of fun things, some that we didn't see the last time we were there. We found the tree house room with great big windows and binoculars to watch the birds and animals with. Owen took this task very seriously, and looked through (the wrong end) of those binoculars for quite some time. They also had a temporary space display, with space activities, and windows of spacey things through the decades, mostly space-themed shows and games. He parked in front of the Star Wars window, and wouldn't move until I told him he could go pick something out from the gift shop. (He picked a little space shuttle, which happened to match his new space shuttle shirt he was wearing.) Later, we opened presents and had moon cake! He was so excited about his moon cake for days before his birthday. I am NOT a cake maker/decorator (last year he got a white circle with sprinkles) so this moon cake was really taking it up a notch for me :)

"Birthday Morning"
Still sleepy, but so happy

Moon Cake with the "number three" on it (didn't matter how many times I told him it was number two)

Whenever we would ask him how old he was, he would tell us "TWO!" while holding up four fingers.
Here are just a few little things we want to remember...
When Owen turned two he weight 34 pounds and had size 7.5 extra wide feet!
He knows lots of words and learns more every day. He's turned into quite the chatterbox.
His favorite color seems to be pink (he NEVER gets that one wrong)
His favorite song is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and he can almost sing all the words... or at least his version of the words.
His favorite books are his "space shuttle books" (A is for Astronaut and his Speed Machines sticker book), and the "buggy book" (Ten Little Ladybugs).
He loves trains, airplanes, Lighting McQueen, go-go's, and space. At the moment he also loves Christmas trees, Christmas lights, electrical outlets, lip gloss (he calls it "medicine), and "wogurt pahkickles" (frozen go-gurts).
He is such a sweet boy with a funny little sense of humor, and makes us laugh every day.

We love you little Owie Bug! Happy Birthday!
