Winnipeg
After about a decade, my parents finally bought a house and live in a "regular" place. Big news right? For 7 years they lived in Abu Dhabi, UAE and for another 3 lived way up north in Moose Factory, Ontario. Both places were pretty hard to get in and out of, and both places provided housing so it's been years since they've lived in a house with their own stuff. My dad still works way up north, but commutes from Winnipeg, where they own the most beautiful home on a gorgeous tree lined street full of other beautiful old homes. After our Alberta adventures, we drove through the (lovelier than expected) province of Saskatchewan to their place for about a week. Their home is so comfy and full of familiar things. Winnipeg is a really great city, lots to offer and very beautiful. We spent a fantastic week there, and then flew back to Dayton, ending our Canadian journey for the summer.
Kate and Grandma on the train. This picture was taken before the ride started. Kate does not like steam engines or the loud sounds they make.
Boat ride on the Assiniboine river and a view of the flooding and capital.
