Happy Springtime Things

Lots of happy things to report....
-It is green, there are flowers, it is warm-ish... Spring is here!
-Easter was a success, Owen loved hunting for eggs, and got lots of treats and a new tube of toothpaste in his Easter basket. Kate got diapers in hers.
-My parents were here for Easter, my birthday, and Kate's blessing. So great to have them here for all of those happy events.
-Day before my birthday, both kids slept in, I got to go shopping, we ate at one of those Japanese steak houses that cook in front of you, and had a most delicious birthday cake. Happy Day!
-My sister came to stay with her two little kiddos for most of the week before the blessing. We did so many fun things...children's garden, Boonshoft museum, bounce house, Young's Dairy...it was heavenly! So fun to see those cousins play together.
-Even more family came for the weekend of Kate's blessing, Dave's mom and a couple of his sisters made the long journey for a short weekend... it went too fast! Now our house is feeling quiet and empty. We miss our visitors.
-Less than ten days until Dave is done with his Board exam...we'll all be glad when that's over.
-We finally gave in and hired landscapers to come turn our ugly front yard into a nice front yard.
-We BOUGHT BLINDS for our bedrooms! After owning our house an entire year, we took down the makeshift window coverings (blankets, old curtains that don't fit etc..) from all three bedrooms and put up nice blinds! No more blanket fort bedrooms!!!

Just a sampling of the visitors we had this past week...
At Young's Dairy. This goat was a bully. It pushed all the other goats out of the way, and even stole this cup of food Owen was feeding it then gulped it down like this.
More goats at the farm
The super fast slides at Young's Dairy. She went sliding down and flew off the bottom, like a little torpedo. Luckily Grandpa Dahl was there to catch her, mid air. Isn't she beautiful?
Riding the train at Young's Dairy
At Wegerzyn Garden, where the Children's Garden is. We've been getting a lot of rain lately, usually this little boardwalk is high above forest floor, not a lake. Owen was in Star Wars heaven, pretending this place was Dagobah.
A new addition at Wegerzyn... they built this awesome nest maze out of old willows.
Easter morning...not many pictures sadly. Just a couple funny faced, blurry shots. It was a happy morning though!
First smiles! We started getting these around 4 weeks, now she's full of them! Love happy baby smiles.
First week back to church. Owen says "You look pretty in your special dress" then told her she looked just like a bumble bee :)
